the neuro i just saw frankly um, tore me a new one because i was hesitant to try a medicine that, well one the message boards on lamictal at least, seems to cause bad headaches. Most complaints seemed to be about how bad the headache is, and there were many many complaints.I already have migraines and some meds have made them worse.
I can't help being so medicine sensitive..I can take neurontin, klonopin but I have real trouble with others.
all foods made me gag on topomax..why am i this way..i cant get past this
is it as activating as some ssris?
do i need to worry..see my name?! (does it help with anxiety?) who do I trust more, the dr., the message boards with the people who like me actually ingest these pills, or the pamplet that the drug co puts out?

Hi... well, I have been on Lamictal for 6 weeks and I never had a problem with headaches. I have on other medications, but not this. In fact, the only side effect that I've noticed is weight gain (interestingly, none of the labels or doctor said anything about this). I wouldn't say that it's been activating for me. Although I really don't have much of a problem with anxiety, I do have a sort of agitated depression, and for the past few weeks or so, I have felt more calm (I think because of the medication).
I'd trust the message boards (although obviously everything isn't the same for everyone) and the doctor, the pamphlet less.

what dose are you on? I'm suppossed to go to 300 ..150 two times a day

Right now my dose is 150mg - half in the morning, half at night. But I'm seeing my psychiatrist today and I imagine he might tell me to go up. But, again, I'd like to reiterate that I've never had a headache at any dose.
