I am wondering if my recent rapid hair loss might be caused by finally losing almost 25 pounds of my med induced weight. My doctor is stumped as to what is causing it. Has anyone else had this happen?

Are you on any meds at the moment?
I lost a heck of a lot of weight with Effexor, and experienced hair loss aswell. It does happen with some of the drugs.
These great guys here on babble gave me a tip to take zink supplements. It has helped a bit, and my pony tail has started to feel thicker again.Hope you get to pin point the cause: best of luck!

RBL, haven't seen one of your posts in awhile! You've been doing fairly well I gather. Yeah, tell us what your current meds are, and that might help. I've had some hair loss from Depakote, but it is sporadic, and it seems to have lessened a lot since I've added extra folic acid and a B-complex supplement. I hear zinc and selenium helps with drug-induced hair loss. It might *not* be drug-induced. Maybe eating less is putting a dent in your nutrition somehow? Nice hearing from you again--Mitch

I am now taking Lamictal and Remeron. But neither has caused me hair loss in the past.
