Hi All,
I wanted to share this with the group cause it help me and I know so many people on ADs have sexual dysfunction problems.
While I on zoloft, I was unable to achieve orgasm. Sex felt good but I couldn't climax. Oh I'm a woman be the way. Anyway, I read somewhere on the internet, to try Ginkgo. So while on zoloft, I took 40 mg ginkgo biloba (common at health food stores) a day and I was able to at least climax (had to work a bit at it and it wasn't as good as when I wasn't on zoloft) but it definitely helped.
just my $0.02 - of course, this is not medical advice and you should check w/ your Dr and/or make sure there are no drug interactions w/ any meds that you are on.

I also found that Ginkgo helped this problem, but I taking 40 mg x 3 per day seemed to lessen the AD response after a week or two.
Perhaps a metabolism problem interaction ?

just a clarification....
I took 40 mg ginkgo biloba extract which the bottle also lists as 400 mg ginko biloba leaf.

Thats right, a certan weight of the leaf is used
initally, this is concentrated into the extract. The brand I used is was a 50:1 extract.
The suggested doses given on certain websites, are usually the lower of the two - in your case 40 mg.
Studies that use the herb for dementia take 40 mg three times per day - this is also recomended for SSRI related sexual dysfunction.

Any negative side effects from the Gingko? (Any anxiety, irritability at all?)
(I've read 120-240 mg/day is even used for the sex. dys. problem.)

McPac,
While on zoloft and ginko, I always felt a bit warmed and seemed to sweat a bit more - don't know if it was due to the zoloft and/or the ginko though.

I found the addition of Ginkgo to an SSRI
made me more irritable. It seemed to improve sexual function and sleep - probably alters 5HT2a
function.I have tried it many times and found I was all-around better without it.
