Posted by breangel on May 30, 2003, at 21:59:34

If I was to go onto effexor, would there be any side effects from the dexidrine i'm taking? If so what would the side effects be? thank you for your time!

I did the effexor/dexedrine combo for a while, as well as effexor with lots of other stimulants and meds. Honestly, effexor has soo many undesirable side-effects that I really didn't notice much else. I don't know your specific situation, but for me it seemed to lower the effectiveness (energizing). You might want to take some time and read the effexor experiences of others on this board. When I went on it 7 years ago there was very little info. Although today there are still doctors that are VERY underinformed, & that's my polite way of putting it. I've spent several years at $200-$300/hr specialist psychs and pharmacologists trying to get off effexor in the hopes of feeling better. Now I'm broke and trying to taper off the effexor on my own, which I really would not recommend. I'm sorry that I don't have a more positive experience to impart, but that's why I recommend reading a lot of the other effexor posts.
On the upside, this response is most effort I've put into anything in almost a week- so thanks for shakin' me out of my stupor!! Good Luck :)
