I just went up to 80mg. While the sleepiness was getting better on 60mg, I was still having to periodically take naps in my office (door closed)using my purse as a pillow. I don't want to quit now because I am getting some clarity. I'm waking up earlier and can follow conversations better. My memory may even be getting better. However, I don't think I can start another period of debilitating sleepiness. I wonder if my doc would prescribe provigil? I think I have read where someone surmised the sleepiness results from too much. If so, I'll be sleeping around the clock with a 20mg increase!!!!!!!

I take Strattera and Provigil for lack of energy due to depression. I started on Provigil and it helped a little. Then we added Strattera and I had very bad nausea, though I had increased energy and clarity. So we dropped the Provigil and the nausea was better, but I lost the energy and clarity. So now I take them both. I controlled the nausea with Ginger in the beginning and now I only have problems once a week. The combination had been so much more helpful than either drug alone. I've been working on finding something helpful for 15 months - and this is really the light at the end of the tunnel. (I also take Prozac and Lithium)
Good luck!

Fall-
Wow, I just went and picked up a script and some samples of provigil! I hope it works for me also. However, I am exploring physiological causes also. I started thyroid medication about six months ago. I had done enough research to know that thyroid and adrenal problems often go hand-in-hand and asked the endo to test my adrenal but he didn't. After feeling great for about 6 weeks, I began to relapse into lethargy and sleepiness. I understand this often happens when the thyroid is treated but not the adrenal fatigue. So, perhaps if I can get my baseline metabolic issues corrected, medications like strattera won't totally wipe me out. At least it's not like my effexor experience-I was sleeping 15 hours a day! What are the biochemics behind sleepiness or are there many?
Thanks!

I hope it works for you! (If you get nauseous, they sell Ginger in capsules in health food stores, or try Real Ginger Ale (again from the health food store))
Good luck!
