I have recently been prescribed Effexor XR for Fibromyalgia Chronic pain, fatigue and depression. I was told it had NO side effects. I have not been able to tolerate any of the other anti-depressants due to various adverse reactions. I had also had bad addiction problems for anit-anxiety meds like Ativan and Klonopin and had to go through horrendous withdrwals to get off of them. It was a nightmare. I also seem to have a strange burning tongue syndrome and nothing is helping that much either. I do take some meds for the Fibro that help some - Soma, Restoril, Neurontin and allergy injections, but am still not ok. Does anyone take Effexor for pain? Why do people go off of it and have all of these problems? Any info on this is appreciated especially in association to Fibromyalgia or the tongue problem.

Can't help you with the pain stuff, but if you were told that Effexor XR has no side effects - you should sue for malpractice.
