I need to take heavy doses of sleep meds to fall asleep (I'm on 70mg Parnate after titrating up to this dose over the last month). Most nights I wake up due to the need to pee, and I can never get back to sleep after this. I don't drink anything but the sip to take the sleep pills down with at night, and take all my Parnate early in the morning. It's not a problem during the day, but I find that I'll pee, not drink anything, and need to pee an hour later. Any suggestions?
Much love,
matt

I'm no expert on peeing but your post has to be one of the more intersting ones I've seen. I'm presently taking Parnate (40 mg) myself. First, I'm curious--what sleep meds are you taking? Are you drinking enough water during the day so as not to get dehydrated? Have you spoken about this whole weird situation with your pdoc?

Ask your pdoc if Parnate, and particularly the dose you're on, would increase the need for urination.
Then you should also examine what the other person mentioned - do you drink a lot of water (that would make you pee a lot; I have to drink lots of water because I'm on Lithium and I pee more than I did before) and do you drink COFFEE, like 2 cups or more/day? Coffee is a diuretic and will DEFINITELY make you have to pee!
Just some ideas ...

i don't feel dehydrated, and drink the same amount of water i always have. i never drink coffee. But I think a diaretic may acdtually be the solution, to help me get all my urine and water out at one time. Who knows?
Much Love,
