> jylThe effects or drinking and meds can be just as individual as side effects. In my experience, I've never had any *negative* effects from drinking while on ADs--except for the fact that alcohol is a depressant!
It might have something to do with tolerance too. 12 is a lot...has your friend been drinking for a long time. I had a huge habit built up but could still 'em back like you wouldn't believe... I would never pass out but coule/would feel pretty down for the next couple of days.

When I was on Zoloft I drank heaps...sometimes 12 in one night. Didn't affect the Zoloft or make me more drunk but. The Nardil does, although - after 4 I'm down for the count.

>Hey! You're not a freak! What you're experiencing is the same as me. I was there. I could just drink like crazy and yes, it was SO worth it at the time.
I didn't always wake up feeling more down than before...I considered those times as "freebies" or something :)
It's hard to say...my attitudes have really changed about alcohol because of how it ended up affecting my life. It was one scary thing after another and yet I still woudlnt' quit. I'm more of a binge drinker now...ironically a counsellor told me that I "did it backwards." Basically, it's the binge drinkers that end up going every day and not the other way around. Oh well.
Keep monitoring yourself and if it makes you sick, then avoid it...not always that simple, is it!)
Take care,
Karen
