Hi I just started Lexapro a fews days ago, and all I have done is sleep and I have also experienced diahrea which is not normal for me. I was wondering if these things will go away soon, or do I need to try and reduce my 10 mg dose to 5 mg. as my pharmacy had suggested?

I have the same problem with Lexapro. This is my 2nd week and I am planning on weening myself off the drug, but in doing so I can see if 5mg works better for me. The tiredness was something that I just could not handle. The Dr. gave me Provigil to help but I was still tired just couldn't fall asleep which was worse.
I would either start off at 5mg and work your way up or go on 10mg for a couple weeks and see if it gets better. Take care.

I started on 5mg of Lex and I had the same SE's you mention PLUS!!! These side effects usually go away in time. I am in week 9 and have no SE's, just a little jaw clenching, but that too is diminishing daily.
Hang TOUGH and we'll all be pulling for you and watching your progress!!!

I was on 10 mg Lex for 8 weeks and the extreme fatigue never went away for me. However, after the fisrt 2 weeks, most of the other side effects did. I would definitely stick it out for 6 - 8 weeks so your body can adjust to it since everyone reacts differently. Good luck!
