Anybody taking Selegilene? What do you think about it? I just started taking only .25mg per day (along with my 1500mg Keppra and 300mg Lamictal). My doctor shyed away from giving me anything like Zoloft or Paxil and what have you. He considered Remeron...but decided on the Selegilene... hmmmmmm

I havent noticed anything from Selegiline, except I am staying up VERY VERY late. It might just be me though.
Going to doc tomorrow. I'll update what he decides on my meds.

Since starting this med at 10 mg, I've learned three things:
1 - take with food. The presence of food in the stomach augments the selegiline by a factor of up to 10. That is, there is ten times more selegiline in your system with food.
2 - works very well with modafinil for add.
3 - for depression, augment with a small amount of dl-phenylalanine. My pills are 500 mg, and after experimenting, I found the best dose to be 60, or 1/8. This is not only very cheap, it is also the amount used successfully in various trials for dl-phen + selegiline as an ad. But you have to take the dl-phen on an empty stomach, as it competes with other amino acids.
This is working very well for me, both for ADD and depression. And it's neuroprotective, which means its helping my brain, not hurting it.

You're welcome. I'd never have sought out modafinil or selegiline if I hadn't learned about them here on psychobabble.
