Dexadrine -- Novacaine feeling?

Posted by zenclear on March 6, 2003, at 18:41:00

Does dexadrine ever make your face feel as though you've had a shot of novocaine? As though part of your face -- for me, it's the right half -- feels lightly numb?

I find I am rubbing my hand over this side of my face more frequently, trying to revivie feeling, as though I've developed a tic or something. The feel has been subtle for a while, but recently seems to be getting more pronounced.

I've decided to have a neurologist check it out. But does this sound at all familiar? It's not pleasant.

Is it a tingling sensation? I used to take dexedrine and adderall and they both gave me a tingling sensation around my face and head... usually only at the higher doses, and only when I would first take it. Subsequent doses had a lesser effect.

No, it's not a tingling feeling. It's the absence of feeling! Just like Novacaine. Tingly would feel good, compared to this.

It may be related to migraine, or something, as it's also associated with a dull pain around my right eye. But what alarms me is the numbness. I've never heard of this exactly being a migraine symptom.

it could be a sinus-like problem, but then I don't seem to have any infection symptoms.

Frankly, I think it's a problem associated with the dex, and perhaps this means it's time I really stopped.
