By day 3 I started feeling panicky, restless, couldn't stop tapping my feet, ficgeting, trouble sleeping, feeling like I'm going to explode. It's relieved a little by walking, but how far can I walk with a new artificial knee! I've never felt anything like this before and I'm just guessing it is being caused by Concerta withdrawal although I'm not sure. I'm also taking Oxycontin for the pain (I was taking this before the surgery so it isn't new)

I took one dose of Concerta today and I did feel better until it wore off and then- well here I am frantically typing away at 1:30 in the morning, I never stay up past 9!

Doesn't the label of your AD warn against discontinuing the medication without notifying your doctor?

ADs have to be taken every day. Even if you're trying to get off them, they have to be taken at least every other day. They are not psychologically addicting, but they make you chemically dependent upon them, hence withdrawal symptoms.

You'll probably be okay as long as you continue taking your Concerta now, but I don't know why you wouldn't take your med to the hospital! Did someone tell you that you couldn't take it while in the hospital?

Folks with asthma can't be without their inhalers, nor diabetics without their insulin or pills. Your condition is just as medical as those conditions.

I hope you feel back to normal soon.
