Mixing the two is a bad bet. St. John's Wort is a re-uptake inhibitor of dopamine, noradrenaline, and serotonin. The combination of a MAOI and St. John's Wort might lead to the serotonin syndrome. Sure someone has got away with it but I still think it is bad bet.

Sounds like a very dangerous mix to me. If it were to be attempted at all, it would be wise to start with miniscule doses, like breaking a SJW pill into 6 pieces and starting with the smallest piece the first day. Study up on serotonin syndrome and be aware of it. It can be avoided with low and slow careful dosing. But honestly, I would not recommend mixing an MAOI and SJW except maybe to an enemy.
