Yes, it works very well with few side-effects, but is not availible directly in the USA, as it dosent have FDA approval.

Your doctor can order it with a prescription from Canadian pharmacies legally, but US health care wont cover it, so you will have to pay the full cost.

No, although it can't hurt to stay away from them, you can eat tyramine containing foods unlike the other MAOI's.

Disclaimer: I am not a doctor and I dont play one on TV either. Consult a physician before you try this medication.

I am not sure if Moclombemide is availible in Mexico, but it is legally presribed and marketed in the UK, Canada, New Zealand, Germany, The Neatherlands and many other countries in Europe.

It is considered a very safe medication, used for depression and social phobia, but due to many reasons it has not been approved or marketed in the USA.

Hi,
I have been on moclobermide for 6 months at 1200mg, thats 300mg more than the stated maximmum recomended adult dose ( I think my pdoc was more ill than I was!!)with little to no theraputic improovment with regards to depression and social anxiety.
However as I'm sure you understand what can really work for one won't touch another. Its very much worth a trial , especially if you have found no relief from an ssri or trycyclic.
I've been on several anti-depressants of varying kinds , and I have to say moclobermide caused me by far the least side effects and I didn't have to change my diet whatsoever. Shame it didn't help me. Best of luck

I am presently taking Moclobemide at 600 mg. for several weeks and still waiting for it to kick in. No luck yet.Do you recall how many weeks elapsed before you felt this drug really working for you? And at what dosage? Thanks for the reply.

Is it true you need to take higher and higher doses of this medication to sustain the therapeutic benifits?
