Hi Ross -
Sorry to be hard on you before - part of it is my own frustrations still ongoing - and part of it is that I remember all your old posts and difficulties and finally getting result with Nardil. And over time I have heard and seen so much criticism (Dr's and patients) - of Nardil - which often on questioning I discover is from either ignorance (Dr's) - lack of knowledge and how to prescribe - use these effective meds - misinformation - and lack of knowledge on how Nardil differs from SSRI's in how it's effects change over time, dosing, etc...
Anyway - on to the point of your question...
Yes, I took 50 Zoloft + 4.5 Klonopin for 5 months - 1 month into that though we added Serzone - I found 300 the best dose. That made for the final 4 months 50 Z + 300 Serzone + 4.5K.
This was highly effective SP combo - in many ways. But I became lazy - at work I would sit on my ass instead of get up and go talk to someone or do something I needed to do. I got along great with my girlfriend - except I could not even reach orgasm during intercourse or even a BJ. (Is this OK Dr. Bob?) - Let me rephrase - during oral sex I could not come on this combo - even though there was no condom - and even though Serzone improved both sexual side effects (and SP) - and even when adding amineptine acutely. Pretty sad eh? Well I never had this problem with Nardil by the way... nor Prozac.
But yes - this I think can be a great SP combo - just like 3 beers said zoloft + klonopin he is right it is a classic combo but in long run is sedating for most. I think you will find the same. Adding a stimulant - perhaps ritalin may help - however it may also reduce SP effectiviness. Worth a try though.
Nowadays - these Dr's they don't care if you take 1, 5, 10, or 20 drugs (kinda dumb in my opinion so many drugs) - but God Forbid that someone should take Nardil. So dangerous! Well maybe not. The Nardil + Ritalin "Hypertensive crisis" fear I always hear about - I called both manufacturers and there is NOT ONE FATALITY ON RECORDS FROM THIS COMBO.
My original Dr. pointed out Nardil is statistically safer than penicillin - and nowadays - with patient education - risk with Nardil is IMO about nil if patients behaves responsibily and with *very limited* resrictions - mostly other serotonin meds - to avoid toxic reaction.
Some have taken Nardil, and another classic tricyclic, imipramine, for 30 years at low dose with sustained ongoing benefit. Low side effects is probably key to these long term successes.
Good luck buddy

Hey there -
Did you ever try to lower the nardil to a low dose instead of a high dose? you can augment it also ...
On your question about me being med free. Well - yeah ... *almost* - for a few months this year because of the problem I developed Jan 2002 - I dropped Nardil, and Klonopin down to 0.75/day, but I used to take up to 4.75/day for a couple years. Anyway - to me .75 is nothing - except I could not drop it because if I dropped and of my .25 x 3 per day doses of Klonopin - it would really set my movements off.
That is why I am going to Mayo clinic in a couple weeks - I am trying to finally get a cleaner diagnosis.
It is too hard for me to treat my SP when I react to certain meds -
Oh - by the way - med free - I have such bad SP w/o treatment it's not worth it man. Even just Prozac helps - 20mg.
