Hi, was wondering if anyone has ever had this problem. I started Wellbutrin 2 weeks ago, adding it onto Lamictal, 200 mgs. I took 150mg of Wellbutrin once a day for a week, and have bumped up to 300mg for this past week. I honestly feel like total crap. I feel like my depression has gotten way worse. I'm having way more "want to die" type thoughts, I don't want to talk to my girlfriend over the phone and when I do its just negative. I can't motivate myself to do anything. I really want to stop it but Im going back to the doctor in a week, so I kind of want to wait to hear what he says. But man, this sucks.. was just wondering if anyone had this problem so I don't feel so freak-ish with this stuff. Thanks..

I had the same reaction more or less. Wellbutrin made me worse before it helped a bit. Mostly gave me anxiety and insomnia.

Dear Mark,
It is obvious from your letter, you are sensitive to dopaminergics like me. I tried wellbutrin 300 mg a day for three weeks and it brought my depressive symptoms back with more intensity and severity. It was a total disappointment, since my enthusiasm was very high, because of the stories I heard.(Zero sexual side effects..etc). Luckily I could sense the return of those hellish symptoms of depression and stop the medication before it could drag me into a severe hellish depression. I will surely advise you stop the medication and try another one(With your docs consent). Besides beware of dopaminergics in future. Parlodel, dostinex, sinemet...there are many dopaminegics.

Mark,
I don't think that you should wait a week to see your doctor; it really sounds as if you should see him straight away.
