Does anybody have any expertese
in this field. What is the best
SSRI for Apathy, also is Paxil really
the best for Insommnia. I've just
entered university, and am having
some major insommnia issues.

I was apathetic from the time I went on it until I quit it four years later. :)

Seriously, Luvox was pretty bad in that it produced a lot of apathy in me. But it also caused me to be less anxious and agitated than any other antidepressant I've tried.

Hi,

Here's a ranking of SRI meds creating the MOST APATHY for me (#1 being the most apathy-inducing):

1) Paxil
2) Luvox
3) Celexa
4) Effexor
5) Zoloft
6) Prozac

The shorter the half-life of the SRI,
the least likely to cause trouble
with falling asleep and staying asleep
in my experience. Paxil or Luvox taken
once in the morning would seem less likely
to cause trouble (in my experience anyhow).
Celexa is OK with sleep as long as the dosage
isn't too high. Prozac and Zoloft have
been very disruptive of my sleep unfortunately.
If Prozac had a half-life of 12 hrs or so I would
be back on that one in a heartbeat.

Mitch
