Like every other drug I've been on -- hopes are high! Why do I have hope when I've been let down a million times before? Maybe I'm just stupid. Yeah, that must be it... Anyway, I'll let everyone know how it goes -- Geodon + Moclobemide could be the answer! I can dream, can't I????

I've been taking moclobimide for about 2 months now. Must say I am feel much better and that I have not really experienced any side effects. After trying over a dozen meds in the last year this stuff works wonderful. Best of luck!

> What dosages are you trying-if you don't mind..Right now I'm tapering off of Neurontin and am down to 1200mg and am on Depakote 1000mg as well. Neither of these meds have seemed to be of much use so my hope is that I can go off of them w/o a problem. I may ask about trading Depakote for Trileptal if it turns out I miss it. I'm also interested in aripiprazole once it comes out and may want to try that instead of geodon but I'll see how things are at that point and decide if it is worth it. I also want to try a stimulant or maybe atomoxetine once it comes out for ADD. I want to get my meds in order so I can pursue cognitive therapy for SP and be pro-active in dealing with my ADD.
Jon
p.s. oh yeah, you asked about dosage... I'm currently taking 80mg/day of Geodon and 150mg of moclobemide (target dose is 600mg and I'll take it from there).

> JonJon,
Pardon my ignorance, but what's Geodon? I'd love to find something as effective as my Nardil/Klonopin cocktail, but without the side effects. Moclobemide's been on my mind, but I need more information. I just scheduled another appointment with my doc for September 25th and would like to become more educated about Moclobemide cocktails before I see him. Having taken Nardil for about 11 years, I guess I'm a veteran. But, I don't know near as much as most on this sight about the newer alternatives. Good luck with Moclobemide. I sincerely hope that you've found your silver bullet! Please keep me posted.

Gypsea,
See my post above "re: moclobemide side-effects". Geodon is the newest atypical anti-psychotic. In addition to being an AP, it very mildly inhibits the reuptake of serotonin and norepinephrine and I believe it could be said to act as an agonist at 5-HT1A. This may explain in part its anti-depressant properties. I find it helps my depression, anxiety, and mixed states. I've had Klonopin before and find it more effective than Geodon for anxiety but it makes me depressed and takes the life out of me. You can certainly combine Klonopin w/ moclobemide if you think you need it or you might want to try something like moclobemide + Neurontin. I don't mean to say Geodon isn't effective for anxiety for me -- it just isn't quite as good as Klonopin. But all things considered I like Geodon better. I'm hoping moclobemide will kick the sh*t out of my anxiety once and for all, though.

> JonMan, I hope so too! Once it does, let me know. Nardil has been a Godsend, but I could do without all the crap He sent with it! I have little doubt about Moclobemide's reduced side effects. I just wonder if it will do the job on my anxiety. Nardil gave me back my life, but those nasty side effects are on an upswing at the moment.
