ECT and electrode placement

hello:
I may have to consider ECT, as my depression is very resistant this time around. Could anyone tell me how exact of a placement is needed when the electrodes are placed on one's head - specifically, my thought here is that not everyones head is the same, so how crucial is the placement of the electrodes? How does the doctor know the placement is correct for ME? Thanks to everyone who answers.
