I am a 58 year old woman, currently suffering from depression and anxiety and have had problems concentrating (ADD, I guess, a lifelong problem with me, which has gotten worse recently). I have been on Wellbutrin SR for 9 days, but today I started feeling shaky, butterflies in stomach, physical symptoms of panic without the actual panic. I went to my doctor and he wants me to stop the Wellbutrin and start on Effexor SR 37.5 for 1 week then go up to 75 and continue increasing dosages after another week. I am also taking Adderall XR 5mg. Has anyone here made this transition, and what was your experience? Thanks for your input.

I only hope your doctor has explained to you how difficult it is to get off Effexor if you want to. There are severe withdrawal symptoms that people experience when trying to discontinue this medication. This medication works well for some people, but I would recommend that you research this medication thoroughly before making your decision. There are some pretty horrific stories out there told by users who did not have such a successful experience on this medication.
It is not my intention to frighten you or discourage you from trying this medication; however, based on my experience with this drug (I also transitioned from Wellbutrin and was taking Ritalin with the Effexor), I would highly encourage you to research ALL of the side effects posted on the manufacturer's web page. Just hoping you find a successful regimen that works for you.
