sleeping pill

Hi,

Has anyone had sucess with Sonata or Ambien.
When I took Ambien it made kind of hallucinate and a little hyper, but it didn't put me to sleep. I have go in the hospital shortly and want to have an effective sleeping pill. I can't take Ativan, because I take that during the day.
