This guy says that boron and magnesium glycinate cured his depression. he also says that other forms of magnesium may be harmful and/or increase depression. Is this a clever ad to sell a particular type of magnesium or should I be out buying some?
"My depression is completely, totally, absolutely gone, gone, gone! I am active and can function mentally, emotionally, and physically at my best again"
"I base that point of view on personal observations after using magnesium glycinate for over a year, (and being off magnesium for the last three days), and the reports of others that have used magnesium glycinate successfully to rapidly terminate their symptoms and who have later gone off magnesium"

I was taking magnesium supplements whith four differnt forms of magnesium a couple of years ago and never experienced any benifit from it, but glycinate wasn't in there. This reminds me of all the hype for chromium, some of which stated that only niacin-bound chromium was safe and that chromium picolinate caused chromosome damage. The magnesium author spent a lot of time on his site for some reason.

I have tried various forms of magnesium, all sorts of vitamin, mineral, and herbal supplements, fish and flax seed oils, and so forth, over several years. All to no effect. Neither negative nor positive. I was not especially skeptical when attempting such treatments, either. For me, these approaches are merely a money-siphon; only prescription pharmaceuticals have had any efficacy.

Is this a clever ad to sell a particular type of magnesium or should I be out buying some?Just a note, this website has links to a large number of anti-psychiatry sites. The anti-psychiatry stories are *so* far fetched, even many of us skeptics would chuckle at such thought.(Can anyone say 'X-Files'?:-) Anyhow....I thought I would pass on this pre-caution.
