To fellow forum followers:
I'm taking 100 mg. of Seroquel and my doctor wants me to double the dose. Does anyone have any experience with sexual side effects (what kind) and Seroquel? My sex drive is already depressed by Celexa. I'm afraid to depress it any more as I have a new beau. Thank you for your responses.

I took Seroquel. It was highly sedative for me, and I HAD to take it just before bed. As it started to kick in, I got wierd paranoia and just felt strangely odd. It did, for a time, give me some positive effects. I can tell you, as far as sex drive goes, it suppressed my libido after taking it, so I always waited to take it until right before bed. Once I took it, I pretty much started to get sleepy and sedated within 30 minutes to an hour. I would wait to take it until right before bed, because once I was on it, I wasn't getting it on any time soon. Good luck to you,

iv been taking seroquel, and for me has no side effects sexual as SSRI's. But if you take it before bed, and wait and have sex, seroquel in my opinon will lower libido, due to the dopamine blockade and histamine release. it has very very slight or if any reuptake of 5ht. So it wont effect libido. It does block 5ht2a receptors but doesnt account on libio. PLus seroquel has a short half life, 6-8 hrs, so after that, if such side effect existed, they would dissipate. Remeron, which is suppose to be side effect free, had lessened my libido worse than seroquel, but im only on 50mg at bed.
