I had taken both Remeron and Effexor without a problem on their own, but together they blew my brain to bits. I have since had extreme reactions to any medication that I have taken and my brain is now so sensitive to any form of drug that I literally cannot even take paracetamol. If you are thinking about trying this combo think twice about it!

Talk about agitated. I had a bad reaction to this combo. Only took it for about 4 days, but went through a week of hell after that too.

I find this post fascinating. Several weeks ago I also had a very bad reaction to this combo. I had assumed it was the Effexor that I had reacted negatively to because I have been on Remeron for a long time - but after reading this, I begin to wonder if it was the combo. Had you been taking Effexor previously and added Remeron or what?

This is considered a "big gun". Some of us need this. I have been on this combo for years and it works well for me with few side-effects.
