Hi,
Zoloft works well for my depression, but the sexual side effects are getting very annoying after a year of it.
I could try to counteract it with stimulants, but Wellbutrin gave me *horrid* agitation, and I did not even enjoy cocaine due to difficulty relaxing and muscle tension. Even caffeine agitates me, so this leads me to believe that stims just aren't for me.
I tried Remeron monotherapy once but the antihistamingergic properties caused some dysphoria AND the alpha2 antagonism caused the worst akasthisia of my life. Plus I slept 12+ hours a night.
Are there any other meds with which I can augment an SSRI to lessen the sexual side effects?
Serzone agitated me as well, so I am weary of norepinephrine increasers.
Anything out there that is a pure 5-HT2/3 antagonist?
George

In reply to Zoloft Sexual SE, fixable w/o Stims/Remeron???, posted by Dysthymic George on June 12, 2002, at 6:40:39
DG - I take Celexa. I take Ginkgo (120 mg twice a day) which helps with sexual side effects although not completely. If mine were to get worse in the future, I would consider either yohimbine or Viagra. Another possibility is Trazodone.
This is the end of the thread.
