Hi...I think I put this on the wrong board, so I hope this is the right board for this. (I haven't posted before but read the site religiously) I am looking for detailed information on bipolar 2 and
memory loss/confusion, etc. I am looking for these conditions in relation to the illness itself, not as a side effect of medications. I've done a search and couldn't come up with what I specifically need. Any help would be appreciated!

Don't know of anything other than symptoms that would occur related to depression or hypomania.
During a depressive phase one can experience any symptom of depression, and some of those symptoms are: poor memory, trouble focussing, and feeling negative about one's self and one's abilities. So depression can certainly bring on confusion and memory problems to some degree.
During a hypomanic phase one could be distractable and so scattered with new ideas to look like memory is a problem. (ie went shopping even though was supposed to stay home to wait for plumber to arrive).
Neither depressive episodes or hypomania should cause the degree of memory loss or confusion seen as side effects of the mood stabilizers though.
If memory loss and confusion are persistent through both up and down times, and are not drug related, then a neurological work up might be a good idea, rule out organic causes.
