Just curious, what has been the general highest dose of Effexor XR prescribed to folks on here? I'd like to see how anywhere between 450-600 mg's might help, but wanted other folks thoughts. Thanks...Jay

I don't know about ever. .but do know that it's not til 450mg that dopaminergic effect kicks in, so that must be a beginning high dose. . .!

I know a women which took 600 mg/day for several weeks but she had a lot of memory probs (short term I guess) and sweated all the time.
My pdoc has a patient taking 900 mg/d !!! Never heard of this huge dose before but I guess this person is a fast metabolizer for Venlafaxine. Once he had a patient taking 1800 mg/d Manerix (!!!) for the same reason - only usual plasma levels were found !
