Hi, I've seen the other threads... I was on 4 -> 6mg of Xanax for 2001, and tapered off in Jan and Feb of this year, using Klonazepam basically when the withdrawal from Xanax became full blown.
I liked the effect of Xanax, but I was slowly being turned into a brain dead man. I had difficulty remembering the simplest things.
At any rate, I took the last Klonazepam on March 8th. Now I'm basically just bug-eyed and have most of the major withdrawal symptoms. Nevertheless, I'm glad to have stopped.
I've read reports of up to a year of withdrawal, peaking at three weeks. Any suggestions appreciated.

If you can tolorate Valium, you might taper down for a few months longer using Valium since one can make very small dose reductions at a time.(If you end up needing to restart a benzodiazepine)
If you can get by without a benzodiazepine, then a sedating drug like Elavil, Surmontil, or Remeron may make you at least more comfortable
for the next few months. Possibly even Neurontin or Atarax may be of benefit.
