Hi,
I talked to you a couple of weeks ago about augmenting a tricyclic antidepressant with lithium.
I have been taking anafranil (250mg) for about a month. I added lithium (900mg) a couple of weeks ago. After I got a blood test my doctor up the lithium to 1200mg. After a day, I suddenly felt a change. I felt much more sociable and talkative, although my mood didn't change much. My doctor says I should stay at these drug levels, but I would like go higher. I've been on 1200mg of lithium for about a week, and am getting no further improvement.
What do you think based on your experiences?
Also, I'm getting some tremor, which you also said you got. Is that permanent if I stay on the drugs long term?
Any input would be greatly appreciated.
Bye,
Dave

I am spike4848's twin brother. I also took imipramine and lithium. I had a great response after 2 days on the lithium .... the depression was gone. And yes, the tremor will go away if you stop lithium. Some people find inderal helpful for that.
Hope this helped.
Spike4848's better looking twin,
