Does anyone take propranolol for akasthisia or other related Parkinsons' symptoms? I'm just wondering what is the initial dose and what is the range of doses one should take. Right now 40 mg taken 3 times a day doesn't seem to relieve my akathisia. Thanks in advance...

Hi WTD
I know someone who has been prescribed propanalol for anxiety of questionable origins. She believes the anxiety is akathisia due to her taking Zyprexa 15mg. I'm not sure her doctor is convinced of this, so I don't know what his train of thought has been. I'll see if I can find out more about it. Gabitril didn't seem to help.
Have you tried any of the anticholinergic drugs like Cogentin? They usually work. What medications are you taking?
