Provigil for depression

Posted by alex68 on March 3, 2002, at 23:42:06

Has anyone else had serious trouble with Provigil (modafinil) ?
I've tried just about everything else out there for depression and discovered that I'm overly sensitive to meds.
Provigil was supposed to be with minimal side effects, but it seems to be as bad as anything I've taken.
I only take 25mg (recommended dose is 100-200mg) and 30 min after I take it ifeel like somebody spiked my food with Xtasy or LCD. For hours afterwards my head feels thick and achy and so do my eyes. I made the mistake of drinking half a cup of coffee this morning and I almost had an anxiety attack. I've been taking it for 4 days now and I'm wandering if these are side effects that will go away soon or Provigil is simply not for me, just like ritalin, amphetamines and the other 20 ADs I've tried already.
Has anyone had any success with non-conventional meds for depression and restoring energy and motivation ?
