I cannot, for the life of me, find the message from "Helen" - she posted something about Bipolar vs. Borderline and mentioned a website she had created. Can't find the message and can't find the website! Help!

> PattyG///Well, this is weird - I'm responding to my own message because, while the one from "trouble" gave me Helen's BPD website info, I couldn't access it. Has anyone else been able to visit the site? I've tried and tried and nothing happens! VERY frustrating.

OK "Patty G" I think you can get to it but not via the address, that isn't working for "me" right now either.
You can go to the archives and type in Sar Borderline, every term, include all months.
One of the responses will be BPD RESOURCES by helen36, open the post and you can point and click on the website.
I must say you strike me as almost desperate, is there a term paper due Monday? I've preservered in aiding your quest as I glanced thru the site a few months ago and found it useful. You know there are many other sites devoted to personality disorders, lots of opinions, be careful, "Patty".trouble

Hi there,
Sorry to hear about access difficulty with my site -- dunno what's up with that -- let me know how/where you are trying to access it. The address is:
http://home.hvc.rr.com/helenbpdIt may not be very well-formatted in browsers under Netscape6 or IE5; I suggest trying it in one of those.
If as I understand from trouble's post, you are doing some kind of review of BPD for a paper, my site has tons of links to virtually every other larger BPD site on the web. Actually, that's the thing: my site is really more of an index to what's out there than a site with some kind of message to preach or medication to shill.
There are a few sites that are more explicit about their take -- Patty Pheil's MentalHealthSanctuary takes the stand that it is fundamentally a chemical disorder; Leland Heller's biologicalunhappiness site promotes exclusive treatment with prozac + tegretol; Kathi Stringer's ToddlerTime site is sympathetic to the dissociative interpretation, Deb Martinson's Secret Shame site battles the misconception that "all" Borderlines self-injure, etc etc.Definitely read all you can and come to your own conclusions -- it's a misunderstood/stigmatized/over- or under-used diagnosis, depending on one's viewpoint. I just throw a ton of research out there for folks to make up their own minds. :)
Take care,
Helen
