Would anyone know whether Desipramine is availabe in the UK? My doc had never heard of it, although at the time I wasn't aware that it's also known as Norpramine and Pertofrane. I was about to choose this med. in preference to Reboxetine, but I've subsequently read info. on a site saying that it's been discontinued in the UK.This seems strange given its relatively benign side-effect profile, especially as I know that Imipramine is available.Any thoughts, so I get my facts straight?

If not desipramine then go for dothiepin (Prothiaden) which is sometimes used as the first-line antidepressant in the UK, due to its favorable side-effect profile.
