Hi to all my psycho-friends,
I have read on this board the hassle some of you go through to get your prescriptions for stim meds. I have been going to my pdoc for over 10 years and from the beginning, he has always given me 3 or 6 post-dated prescriptions for my stims. This way I only see him every 3 or 6 months for my med checks.
He has a reputation for being very conservative, and I don't think he would do anything illegal. I have just been wondering why I don't read about any of your doctors doing this for you. Perhaps he trusts me because I have never lost a prescription or had any problems w/ abuse or addiction, although he knows I experimented w/ all sorts of drugs as a young adult.
I am just curious... What do you think?
Thanks,
Carly

It may be your long association with him. I've either ended up moving too many times, or had my doctor move. Never had a doctor for that long before - pathetic, isn't it?
The one I have now, I hope to keep. I've only had him for 2 years though. He's pretty good with me, but I think he'd still rather play safe than sorry.

My pdoc did that, actually. He would give me a few at a time so I didn't have to come in every month. Actually, at some point, the insurance started filling the adderall scrip for 90 days supply. I was kind of surprised by that, but pleased, of course.

That would make sense.

Hi Carly,
When I was in college my doc would send post dated scripts in the mail to me while I was at school.

I think doctors probably aren't supposed to do that (give you postdated scripts, that is) -- but I'm sure a lot of them do it anyway.
This is the end of the thread.
