Does zyprexa make dystonia worse? I am going to be taking a neuroleptic soon. Should I go with clozapine or zyprexa? Which one is least likely to affect my dystonia?

Yes Zyprexa could exacerbate dystonia. Clozapine is supposed to have the least chance of causing movement disorders, although the chance is not zero. Clozapine has the fewest movement disorder side effects, but more than makes up for this in other side effects. You have to have your blood drawn once a week with clozapine.

Clozapine, Olanzapine, Quetiapine and Sertindole does not cause EPS in usual doses. Clozapine and Sertindole are the safest in respect to EPS. However, Clozapine is associated with Agranulocytosis, something you don't want to get (deadly!). So, I would recommend on Zyprexa (olanzapine) if you are not concerned with weight gain and somnolence, Quetiapine for if you do, and if you really don't want any weight gain go for Geodon (Ziprasidone), although it is associated with some EPS.

The above is untrue. I personally am testament to this. I suffered a bothersome case of EPS from just 50 mg of Seroquel this past fall. Atypical anti-psychotics can and do cause EPS. Its a myth Atypicals never cause EPS.
Clozapine is supposed to be the only atypical which supposedly "never" causes EPS.
