Pamelor and sedation

Posted by Lia Mason on January 18, 2002, at 13:54:45

Hi,

I'm taking 60 mg Pamelor for a pain condition. I took up to 90mg 12 years ago for depression with no problem, but this time around I feel tired and weak and lightheaded.

Any tips on managing this side effect? I'd like to continue taking it. I'm interested in whether dose splitting helps and whether there's truth in my doctor's advice that with time side effects will dissipate.

Thank you!

Pamelor is one of those drugs that people develop tolerance to (trazodone is not).

Perhaps you could optimize your medication regimen with some Prozac, which many people find stimulating. Another idea is Wellbutrin....

Best of luck to you,
