Ok, so I figure it's about time for me to get some of this off my chest. I've been taking Effexor XR 150mg for about a year now. It has done a great job of stabilizing my life during some pretty unstable times.
But the one thing I have noticed that just doesn't go away is these extremely crazy dreams. Depending on what is going on in my life, the dreams can vary from extraordinary fun dreams to slightly uncomfortable ones.
The strangest "uncomfortable" one that is completely reoccuring is the one where I keep noticing some of my teeth are loose - like they used to get when you were a kid with your kid teeth. But all my teeth are permanent! So I just think, "It'll be fine, just don't jiggle it too much and it'll stay put." But they always fall out. So I end up losing 3 or 4 teeth in my dream, then wake up and feel very grateful that they are still there. Although it takes a while to get over it.
It seems most of my dreams end this way - where it takes me at least an hour or so to get over them after waking up because they were so REAL.
Anyone else wish to share similar experiences of DREAMS and EFFEXOR?

I had vivid dreams at one point in my life, without meds. It took hours each day before I could figure out if it was true or not. They lasted several months, and they were all about the same fundamental issue, although the story changed from one dream to the next.
I've read posts of other people who had vivid dreams on Effexor as well as on other ADs.
Question: Do you have bruxism as a side effct of the med? That could explain the dreams about your teeth. If so, perhaps treating the bruxism would help with those dreams.

Oh my god!!!
I've always dreamt very heavily, but for the past few months (also on effexor) I keep dreaming my teeth are loose, or have all fallen out.. They're never pulled, they always just fall out!!!
God knows hat it means, but its been really bugging me!!!

No teeth falling out (yet?!) But, during the 3 years or so of Taking Effexor XR 300mg I've noticed that I do have the strangest, vivid dreams. The content is sometimes just plain wacky! Other people I know that are on Effexor complain of the same vivid dream life. Other favourite side-effect compliants are unusual sweating, all kinds of sexual problems, feeling hot when it's cold and vice versa ...
