Anyone taking glucosamine?

I am having a lot of joint pain (old injuries beginning to haunt me), and am considering taking glucosamine. While I will talk to my doc about it, I was wondering if anyone has taken this supplement and could share with me their experience (whether they had problems or not and what psychiatric meds they are on). My current meds are effexor xr, topamax, lithium and seroquel.
