Does anyone know how long it takes 500 mg of Depakote to get out of your system?
Thanks.

I actually liked Depakote - it pulled me out of a horrible agitated depression. It works quickly, which is a real bonus. I was feeling "flat" on it recently though.
I am stopping b/c I'm hoping to get pregnant soon, and Depakote is a big no no, at least for the first trimester. I'm going to try Lamictal instead.
I was gaining weight on Depakote and had tremors. Otherwise, it was fine. But you do have to have lab tests and it is kind of a "big gun".
That was far more info than you wanted, wasn't it? :)
- K.

It has been my experience that carbamazepine and lamotrigine have more mood elevation than the others (depakote)...
