Hello, i went to my pdoc today. he gave me a script called gabitril. he said it binds both gaba a and b recepters. After i get to a theraputic dose, around 8mg daily, i wont need benzos. Anyone experience this medication

No, but I'd be interested to hear what your experience on it is. (Gabitril doesn't bind GABA receptors, BTW; rather, it increases the amount of GABA available.)

I take 56 mg in 4 divided doses of Gabitril for depression. It works very well and it is very stimulating. Anything else you want to know about it, ask me.

Hi Calvary Hill,
Back in January you were doing well on Gabitril? Are you still taking it? What's your experience been? My doctor suggested I try it and I'm trying to get some info to help me decide.

Stimulating? My pdoc prescribed it to replace Serzone for insomnia. I took 4 mg. and felt nervous as a cat. My doc said lots of his patients find it calms their anxiety for sleeping, and that I would only need 8 mg. for it to work. I just couldn't do the side effects.
