I was wondering if anybody on here has experienced good and continued weight loss with Topamax? Also, does it help with sleep?Also, here in Canada, you can get Topamax "Sprinkle Capsules". Would these be extended-release capsules?

Jay - I believe that the Topamax Sprinkles are a way to get children to swallow the medication (ie. for epilepsy, and are sprinkled in food). I guess you could sprinkle it on your Coco Puffs™, and the mood stabilizing effect would make you less koo-koo for them (I dunno).

Don't know about the "Topamax Sprinkles", although I must admit they sound very interesting...
My psych put me on Top about 5 or 6 months ago as a mood stabilizer and to help me lose weight I gained from Zyprexa. It, coupled with a good diet and some moderate exercise has helped me to lose 22 lbs so far. I've hit a wall with my weight loss, but I'm sure if I push my exercise to higher level I can lose more. It definitely was sedating for me in the beginning, but like most meds, after awhile that started to taper off a bit.

The other kind have the ability to screw you up both psychologically and physiologically (through synaptic alterations), in the long run.
