Over the last few weeks I've been dealing with
a headache that feels like a hangover multiplied by 1000. I haven't been drinking.I think it's my depression getting worse.
It also might be in response to the 4800mg of
Neurontin or 450mg of Wellbutrin that I take.
I've been taking 1-2mg of Klonopin forever,
and I just started Celexa. Or maybe I need
more than 4800mg of Neurontin?Coffee helps relieve the pain.
Any thoughts would be appreciated.
Thanks.
Pat

> PatCelexa is the most recent med change you made? How long had you been on the Neurontin and Wellbutrin before you added the Celexa? I'm thinking that if you've been on the N and the W for a while, and if the headaches didn't start until you added the Celexa, it's probably the Celexa (or its combined reaction with the other meds). If coffee helps it, it might be a vascular headache. Does it throb? Is it worse when you bend over to tie your shoe (i.e., when your head is below your heart)? Wellbutrin and SSRIs both give me this kind of vascular headache. For me it's affected by posture: if I bend over or sit down really fast, I get a major headache like my head's going to explode. However, if I stand up to quickly everything gets sparkly and I have to sit down (then I get the headache--LOL). It seems to get better the longer I'm on the medication. Coffee seemed to help at first but made it worse in the long run. Hope that helps.

Hi.
The headaches started before Celexa.
They started after Wellbutrin.
I didn't have them on Neurontin.
I got off Neurontin, recently,
and then got right back on and
went right away to 4800mg.I've got this headache right now
whether I sit or stand. It's not
a sharp pain. It feels like my brain
is getting squeezed. My brain hurts.
I'm serious when I say it feels like a hangover
multiplied by 1000.The coffee is not helping today.
This is pure suffering.
I think it's the depression
getting worse.The headache is paralyzing.
I can't do anything i.e clean
my apartment, do my laundry, etc.Thanks.

> PatSounds awful. Sorting out the cause of headaches is, of course, a multibillion industry in this country. I'll just add my two cents. I seldom had headcahes until I went off my ssri. I then had the worst, persistent headaches, migraines really, for months, until I re-strated an antidepressant, at which point the headcahes went away completely in 2 weeks and stayed away for years. It sounds weird to say this but hopefully the headache is depression and will resolve as the celexa builds up. That was the drug that did it in my case. Best of luck - Edward
