I started lamictal a week ago and have been very dry and itchy/pins & needles, but no noticeable rash. I am of course paranoid about the possibility of it. I am wondering what kinds of similar experiences people had and if they got a rash what it looked like, where it was, etc.
Thanks,
J

I got bad dermititis (my scalp was red), and
a big red splotch across my stomach. Lower the
dose and go slow. Also, I tried rubbing my
body with anti-dandruff/psiorisis shampoo and it seemed
to help.-john

I started Lamictal a few weeks ago, and also experienced very itchy skin when I got up to 25 mg. I got what seemed like little "bug bites" on my back, but only about 10 of them scattered around. Not like an actual rash. That went away after a couple days. Then I developed dermatitis on my wrist, about the size of a quarter.
I went to the dermatologist who assured me the dermatitis wasn't drug related, and the itchy skin was nothing to be worried about. He said he thought it was due more to the change in weather than the Lamictal. He said if I got the serious rash from Lamictal I would know it -- I would look sunburned and swollen all over. This was very reassuring to me. I've since gone up to 50 mg. with no more itchy skin.
Good luck ... I'm scared of the whole rash thing too.
