I did. I counted grains for 2 months getting off of Effexor. Although now I hear the way to get off Effexor is to augment with a longer half life SSRI (Prozac) for a few days or so. Some people say that Ther-Flu also helps.

my pdoc has even recomended that i split the capsule to control dosage, so yeah, its no problems there...you may also try tapering with a combo of prozac, i hear that helps... you could also switch to regular effexor, it will be cheaper, and you can devide the dosage into as small as you like, that way you can taper the dosage down slowly...
benadryl also works to help combat withdrawl sympotms... and when all else fails, its good to have a suply of something like klonopin or xanax on hand... of course if you take those drugs for a very long time you have to worry about weaning off them as well!
isnt life grand?

Can you tell me what was your maximum dosage?
Was all transitions "down" hard or was it only
difficult below say 75mg?

The important thing is not to rush it, and not drop the dosage too high... Depending on how long you've been taking it your brain has become accustomed to it and quick and drastic changes will inevitably cause you problems...
It may take longer, but its better than feeling sick every day.
This is the end of the thread.
