Can DHEA have anti-depressant effects?

Posted by Neal on September 13, 2001, at 16:10:45

I seem to be getting an antidepressant effect from taking DHEA. I'm only taking about 15 to 25 mgs. Seems to stop the negative internal dialogue, and gives me a more positive outlook.

Has anyone else had any positive effects from taking DHEA?

I just started taking it for fatigue, but the amount is only 10mg. I don't notice that much difference. If I take too much DHEA, I get acne. I bet, though, if your depression is cause by a deficiency of DHEA or one of the hormones it converts to, it could help depression.
