Hey everyone. I just would like to report my ups and downs with effexor xr. I've been on it for around 4 months. So far, my cutting attemps have decreased and my suicide urges are gone. Depression and anxiety are not near as bad, so it does work from that standpoint. However, I have had a harder time breathing since I've been on it, and when I came off, my side effects were similar to how I felt before I had a small seizure a few years ago. It is dangerous to quickly come off of it. Also, before effexor, I used to get drunk and still have some control. Now, when I drink on effexor, I have no control; my impulses are harder to control. be careful and don't drink too much on it, or you might mess of your life like I did and lose all control.

Sounds like more ups than downs. The people with downs on Effexor are LOUDER than those who are content with it!

>be careful and don't drink too much on it, or you might mess of your life like I did and lose all control. On an effexor/alcohol rage I punched a mirror and fux0red my hand up... (Still sore, weeks later). Earlier that eve, I kicked a plateglass door... Lotsa fun... I still drink, but now I'm much more carefull to keep an eye on myself...
Why do I still drink? I dont know; I like having fun... and I do aim to get mentally better... I dont think of my drinking as a pathology that needs to be cured...
