I am on 225 mg of Effexor XR and Celexa 20mg. The reason for this combo is to help with sexual side effects of Effexor. (Anorgasmia) I have tried Celexa once before, and it made incredibly tired! Well it is doing the same thing again. I was wondering if Wellbutrin Sr 150 mg would be worth trying. Would there be any risk of serotonin syndrome?? I personally think the doses are not high enough, but was wondering if anyone knew. I have heard good things about Wellbutrin SR, and in fact my pdoc had suggested it, but wanted to try Celexa first, because there is a low risk of side effects. I haven't had any side effects except for being so sleepy. The Effexor by itself is great! I couldn't take a nap if I tried, and it has help my mood incredibly. Since being on the Celexa, I have been irritable, due to being tired I think!
I need a sex life again!
Any opinions PLEASE!

No chance of a serotonin syndrome with the combo because Wellbutrin works on norepinephrine and dopamine, neglecting serotonin.

I took Wellbutrin for a month and a half. I had no side-effects.
Here is why Wellbutrin is a good deal:
*It has no anticholinergic side-effects.
*It has few, if any sexual side-effects. In fact, it will even improve sex drive and alleviate anorgasmia for some.
*Wellbutrin interacts negatively with few drugs, thus one could add most antidepressants to it (if need be).
*People like the stimulating effect of it.
*The new SR formulation can be taken 2 times a day instead of 3 times a day.
*No blood tests are needed.
*Wellbutrin IR is not as expensive as the SSRI's, mirtazapine, or venlafaxine.I hope you do very well on Wellbutrin....
