Anyone who has experience and can tell me which they found to be more effective (Effexor or Celexa) with anxiety I would like to hear about. Thanks.

Effexor XR is the only one specifically approved for anxiety symptoms, but every person will have a different response to it or Celexa.

I never tried Effexor but Celexa has helped me a lot with anxiety. If you have anxiety, but not very much depression, try just 10 mg of Celexa.

Before trying Effexor for anxiety, exhaust other possibilities!!! I suppose I'd say it "works", but the side-effects and withdrawal symptoms are terrible. I was not warned. I also did not need anything this drastic for my intermittant anxiety (though it has been a lifelong companion to my depression problems). I'm off it now and would never use it again, but I recognize it can be useful for some who don't respond to anything else. Just be informed of the side effects and extreme difficulty coming off this drug.
