My 4 1/2yr old just started this med. I read most of the package insert but the studies have no real educating information. If anyone is taking this, or their child, I would like to know what you think or have noticed or heard. I seem to be scared of new medications, and especially with my children. I am afraid to trust new meds. What about long term effects or things to watch for?
I'll appreciate any response.

Sharek, Paul J. MD, MPH. Bergman, David A. MD. The Effect of Inhaled Steroids on the Linear Growth of Children With Asthma: A Meta-analysis. Pediatrics. 106(1):e8, July 2000.
"...The fluticasone subgroup, with 1 study and 183 subjects, showed a decrease in linear growth velocity of .43 cm/year, {a tiny decrease in my opinion}."If you give me your e-mail address, I could mail you some other findings on the drug from JAMA.
