Paul,
Hi! :-) Havent' seen you around in a while... how are things going?I'm still hanging around.. I'm still out of work with no income so this board has really helped me... learn, and kill time. I get to go back to work in 3 weeks. Can't wait. (so do probably other people on the board to get rid of me... he he)
I also stay around to see how you and some other "effexor" friends are doing. Please let me know...... thinking about you with crossed fingers,
Michele

how ya doin?
You sound good.I've stopped the FXR cold turkey. 3 days.
Doc has put me on some weirdo neuroleptic (fluanxol - used since about 1950!) that I'd never heard of.I had a really shitty day yesterday but today have a little of myself back. I don't think the FXR helped one iota and at the moment am relieved to be off it....I'm waiting for withdrawal to bite though but would feel so cheated, given that it did jack for me in the first instance.
Rooting for you
Paul

Hi Paul,
Glad to see your back!!! So you did end up quitting cold turkey.. I had a feeling you would.. your reluctance was so similar to mine. I'm hoping you'll be as lucky as me. I expected the worst.... got some prozac, benadryl, you know all the tips.
After 11 days, haven't felt a thing.... so don't assume you will. I felt wonderful getting off the stuff.. it was a "high" in itself... those side effects while taking it were just awful for me.
Like I said, I haven't had any physical symtoms, but the last few days I've been feeling really depressed again. My doctor gave me celexa... but I'm not ready to take anything yet.
Being that this fluanxol is for short term and you were wondering where you pdoc was going with your treatment.... maybe he prescribed it to get you thru the after effexor stuff and then decide later on down the line where to go with it? Just a thought.
I hope everything works out.... just think... you might not have any withdrawal! It does happen, I'm living proof. Fingers crosssed.... keep me up to date how your feeling. Take care, Michele
